Valley of Jordan | Urwa's Blog
Hello and I’m Urwa Jaber
talking to you from Al-jiftlek , at 10 am 26th January I went with my colleague Neveen ( she is a lawyer and a volunteer in the Jordan valley solidarity campaign ) to Al-Jeftlek the middle of Jordan valley to meet French people they came to volunteer in the valley making mud-bricks to renovate the old houses and to rebuild the demolished houses by IOF, we helped them, described and explained something about the valley and how IOF confiscating the land there and about the demolishing that happening day by day and what we are actually doing in the valley.
At the same time there were around 100 international people with my friend rasheed in Al-maleh and with ma’an development center, they were doing something called “Psychological discharge” for the children there because of the occupation and how it has affected on their Psychological. That Psychological discharge has done by doing games or plays and some gifts for them.
At that fantastic interesting time and during the Psychological discharge, Israeli forces came to wipe the “discharge” word and to write “charge” instead of it, and to draw sad expressions on the children faces. The IOF took all the passports and save a copy of them then they closed all the area, Almaleh and Ein-Alhelwa and prohibited the taxes and the cars to get in or to get out for one hour to “pull” the international people out of the whole Jordan valley.
When I heard about that I drove to Al-Maaleh then I found the area still closed and the army stopped me for 20 minutes then they walked out of the area and I went to see Al-maleh but I didn’t see any international people there, I asked the citizens there about them and they told me the story I told you up.
