GAZA, January 5, 2013 (WAFA) – Israeli soldiers opened fire at a garbage truck in Beit Hanoun, north of Gaza City, on Saturday damaging the truck, smashing its windows and injuring a sanitation worker, according to local sources.

They said soldiers stationed on the fence separating the Gaza Strip from Israel opened fire at the truck that belongs to the municipality of Beit Hanoun while it was emptying its contents.

A worker identified as Awad Zaneen, 31, was hit by shrapnel in the head and was taken to hospital for treatment.
