RAMALLAH, June 25, 2012 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Monday arrested a number of Palestinians from the West Bank and East Jerusalem, including an elderly and a teenager, according to local sources.
The Wadi Hilweh Information Center, in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan, said a staff from Israel's West Jerusalem municipality backed by police raided a house in Silwan and arrested its owner while he was repairing his house in addition to a worker. The owner was later released.
Forces also arrested Mohammad Bidon, 15, from Silwan after beating him.
Forces claimed Bidon was in the street when he was supposed to be under house arrest, which the family denied. The teen was taken to the Russian compound detention center in West Jerusalem for interrogation.
Spokesman of the National Committee against the Wall and Settlements in Beit Ummar, Mohammed Awad, said that an Israeli military force stormed an area northwest of the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, and arrested two Palestinians age 54 and 35 after raiding and searching their homes.
This brings up the number of Palestinians arrested by Israeli forces since the beginning of the year to 86, of whom more than 50 were under the age of 18.
