TUBAS (Ma’an) -- Israeli authorities on Thursday released Palestinian lawmaker Ayman Daraghmeh from Hadarim prison, a rights group said.
Daraghmeh, a lawmaker in the Palestinian Legislative Council from the change and reform bloc in Tubas, was detained in December and spent six months in administrative detention.
The Palestine prisoners’ center for studies said in a statement that the Israeli forces are holding 26 lawmakers from the parliament including speaker Aziz Dweik and three former ministers.
The center said Israel is using administrative detention to continue detaining lawmakers without any evidence or accusations against them.
