GAZA,(PIC)-- Tadamun Foundation for Human Rights stated that the Israeli occupation authorities has turned, on Monday, a detainee, from Jaba village in Jenin, to administrative detention after the end of his sentence.
The foundation lawyer, Osama Makboul, confirmed that the so-called Israeli military commander issued, at the request of the Israeli intelligence service, a decree to turn the prisoner Ahmed Salim Ahmed Salatna, 49, to administrative detention after ending his sentence which lasted three months.
The detainee Salatna was arrested on January 2011 where he had spent 15 months in administrative detention before transferring his file to the court. After the verdict against him and the end of his sentence, he has been served with administrative detention, the lawyer explained.
For his part, Ahmed El-Betawi, a researcher at Tadamun Foundation, pointed out that Salatna served as the director of Jenin Zakat funds, he is a father of six children and he was arrested for the first time in 1993 for 3 years, and in 2005 for a year and a half.
Betawi stated that he had undergone brain surgery to remove a benign tumor on 1998, and that he was fitted with a shunt to relieve pressure on his brain which needs regular checks.
For her part, the detainee's wife stated that she was waiting with all the family for her husband's release but she was surprised by the Courts' decision to renew his administrative detention.
Salatna's wife called for pressure on the occupation authorities to implement what was agreed to end the hunger strike led by the Captive movement last month and to stop the administrative detention which represent a nightmare for the prisoners and their families as she said.
