Description
RAMALLAH, May 21, 2012 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Monday seized a truck and a bulldozer from a quarry in Rafat, a village near Ramallah, under the pretext of not having a license to operate the quarry, according to the owner Akram Qandeel.
He said that forces raided his quarry without any prior notice and proceeded to confiscate equipment claiming the quarry was within Area C, which is under full Israeli military rule, and that he did not have a license to operate it.
He said the Israeli authorities had ordered the quarry shut down in 1998 after they had refused to renew its license. It was, however, re-opened about eight months ago.
He said almost 70 workers make a living from working in the quarry.
