On the 733rd day of Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza, occupation forces continued their aerial and ground assaults across the besieged territory, killing and injuring dozens of Palestinians.
Medical sources in Gaza hospitals reported that more than 13 civilians were killed and over 67 wounded by Israeli missiles and gunfire since dawn Tuesday.
Six bodies were transferred to Al-Shifa Hospital, two to Nasser Hospital, one to Al-Amal Hospital, and one to Al-Aqsa Hospital.
A source at Al-Shifa Hospital confirmed that the bodies of two Palestinians were recovered from beneath the rubble after Israeli missiles struck the Al-Jala’ and An-Nasr areas in Gaza City. Several others were wounded in the same attacks.
Seven Palestinians were killed in Gaza City over the past 24 hours, six of them in the Sabra neighborhood, where Israeli forces escalated their shelling.
Since dawn Saturday, Israeli forces have launched more than 230 airstrikes, killing 118 Palestinians, 72 of them in Gaza City alone, despite repeated international calls to halt the bombardment, including statements from U.S. President Donald Trump.
The siege on Gaza City continues to intensify. Israeli forces are blocking food supplies, causing sharp price hikes and severe shortages of vegetables and flour.
At dawn, occupation troops deployed explosive-laden vehicles into the area and detonated them, causing widespread destruction. Israeli quadcopter drones dropped explosive devices onto rooftops in the Kathem area of the Rimal neighborhood, west of Gaza City.
Israeli Naval forces fired shells toward the western coast, while warplanes bombed the vicinity of the Ashwaq Center on Omar Al-Mukhtar Street in the east. Drones also opened fire on residential homes in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, northeast of Gaza City.
Israeli tanks renewed artillery shelling north of the Nuseirat refugee camp, in central Gaza. Two Palestinians were killed in separate incidents across the central governorate in the past 24 hours.
Israeli airstrikes targeted Khan Younis, in southern Gaza, while ground units opened fire north of the city.
Four Palestinians were killed, and several others were injured, near U.S.-linked aid centers while awaiting humanitarian aid in southern Gaza.
Several Palestinians were also injured, including one who suffered a gunshot wound to the head, when Israeli soldiers fired at residents seeking food and humanitarian aid in the Shakoush area, northwest of Rafah city, in Gaza’s southmost part.
Politically, the Hamas delegation in Sharm El-Sheikh reaffirmed its commitment to advancing a ceasefire agreement with full responsibility and constructive engagement.
Hamas stated that its delegation has shown the seriousness and positivity needed to achieve progress and finalize the agreement.
The group added that mediators are making significant efforts to remove obstacles to implementing the ceasefire, and a spirit of optimism is spreading among all parties.
Negotiations have focused on mechanisms for ending the genocide, securing the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, and facilitating prisoner exchange.
Today, both sides exchanged updated lists of detainees to be released, in line with agreed criteria and numbers.
Hamas announced Wednesday that it had exchanged prisoner lists as part of the ongoing negotiations in Sharm El-Sheikh. The delegation, it said, “approached the talks with seriousness and a constructive attitude.”
Now in their third day, the discussions have seen a rise in the level of representation among participating parties.
In its statement, Hamas noted that mediators are working actively to resolve remaining obstacles to implementing a ceasefire agreement. The group described the atmosphere as increasingly optimistic.
According to Hamas, the negotiations have centered on ending the genocide, securing the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, and advancing the prisoner exchange process.
The group confirmed that today’s exchange of detainee lists was carried out in line with previously agreed standards and numbers, and that its delegation had contributed responsibly to moving the talks forward.
Khalil Al-Hayya, head of the Hamas negotiating delegation, stated in an interview with Cairo News, “We came to Sharm El-Sheikh for serious and responsible negotiations to end the war on our people in Gaza. We carry the hopes and aspirations of our people—for stability, statehood, and self-determination.”
He added, “We appreciate the efforts made by Islamic and Arab countries and by President Trump to end the war permanently. We affirm our full readiness to stop the genocide, but Israel continues its killing and extermination. The Israeli occupation has never been trustworthy and has never honored its promises. We came with a direct goal: to end the war, exchange prisoners, and secure the release of Israeli detainees.”
U.S. presidential envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Sharm El-Sheikh to join the negotiations. President Donald Trump reiterated his optimism that the ongoing talks could lead to a final agreement to end the genocide in Gaza, stating that the “next two days will be decisive.”
The accumulated death toll from Israel’s ongoing genocide of the Palestinians in Gaza has now reached at least 67,173, with more than 169,780 injuries recorded—most of them children, women, and the elderly—since October 7, 2023.
