On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, day 640 of Israel’s genocide against the people of Gaza, and day 111 since the Israeli military violated the ceasefire agreement on March 18th (when Israel resumed its wholesale slaughter of the besieged and imprisoned Palestinian civilian population in Gaza), Israeli forces continued their violent assault on all parts of the Gaza Strip, with the main targets being the tents of displaced Palestinian families.

Bombs also hit the al-Mawasi ‘safe zone’ – bombed for the seventh day in a row, as well as Khan Younis and Gaza City. At least 74 Palestinian civilians were killed on Wednesday.

Forced evacuations of all Palestinians in the city of Khan Younis continued for the second day, after Israel issued orders requiring tens of thousands of people to move to the so-called ‘safe zone’ of Al-Mawasi.

The Israeli military committed numerous war crimes again on Wednesday (details below), bombing and shelling the starved, besieged and unarmed civilian population of 2.3 million people imprisoned inside the Gaza death camp (Israel claims to be ‘targeting Hamas militants’, but the overwhelming majority of the nearly 60,000 documented killed over the past 640 days have been non-combatants, including nearly 17,000 children).

Intense Israeli shelling on several areas in the Gaza Strip began early in the morning Wednesday and continued through the afternoon and into the evening — as has been the case every day in Gaza since October 7, 2023 (apart from a five-day ceasefire in late November 2023, and a 51-day ceasefire from January 25th through March 18th, 2025).

The death toll from civilians killed at the gladiator style arenas set up by the US-based Christian Zionist company ‘GHF’ over the past 24 hours reached 7 killed, along with more than 57 injured. This brings the total number of bringing the total number of “livelihood” casualties who arrived at hospitals to 773, with more than 5,101 injured.

Over the past 24 hours, 105 were killed and 530 were injured, while a number of victims remain under the rubble and on the streets, and that ambulance and rescue crews are unable to reach them.

The Palestinian National Council (PNC) said that the Israeli occupation’s massacres against families in the Gaza Strip embody the most heinous forms of genocide, the latest of which were the massacres against the Joudeh family in Al-Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza City, and the Shaaban family in Mawasi, Khan Younis.

The National Council added in a statement issued Wednesday that the Shaaban family was erased from the civil registry after the killing of all its family members, just as thousands of other Palestinian families were erased before them.

The National Council noted that this crime is not an exception, but rather comes within a systematic and organized framework aimed at terrorizing the Palestinian people, forcing them to flee and emigrate, and emptying the land of its owners by destroying the social fabric and killing all families.

Their statement continued: “What we are witnessing are mass family executions under the guise of fighting terrorism and self-defense, amid international paralysis and moral and political complicity. According to official statistics, the occupation has committed more than 12,200 massacres, including the complete extermination of 2,700 Palestinian families and their erasure from the civil registry.”

Today’s massacres followed a series of massacres committed by Israeli forces on Tuesday, with over 40 civilians killed by Israeli airstrikes and artillery fire, including a group of children killed while playing around a swing set, and a tent housing displaced persons in the Al-Rimal neighborhood in central Gaza City.

The following attacks by Israeli forces in Gaza on Wednesday were documented by local sources:

11:35 pm

A mother and her three children were killed Wednesday evening in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a house in Khan Yunis refugee camp, south of the Gaza Strip.

A Wafa news correspondent reported that the bodies of the killed were transferred to Nasser Medical Complex. They were identified as Asya Jad Allah “Othman” and her children Yahya, Musa and Ibrahim Magdy Jad Allah.

8:53 pm

At least 10 Palestinians were killed as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.

A Wafa news correspondent reported that four civilians were killed and dozens injured in an Israeli drone strike that targeted a civilian vehicle near the city of Asdaa, northwest of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip.

Four citizens were killed and others injured in an Israeli airstrike that targeted the Shabeer family’s home in Al-Shati, west of Gaza City.

A Wafa news correspondent said that a citizen was killed by Israeli occupation forces’ fire near the Shuhada Junction in the central Gaza Strip, while a female citizen was killed and others were injured, most of them in critical condition, when Israeli warplanes bombed a camp for displaced persons near the Firas Market in the Al-Daraj neighborhood in central Gaza City.

The correspondent confirmed that a number of citizens were killed and others wounded as a result of a series of Israeli airstrikes targeting a number of civilian homes near the Al-Mahta Mosque in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, northeast of Gaza City.

He pointed out that a large number of killed and injured are still under the rubble, as medical and civil defense crews are unable to reach the area.

Medical sources reported that 17 citizens were killed as a result of the ongoing Israeli shelling of areas in the Gaza Strip before dawn on Wednesday.

A Wafa news correspondent said that 11 citizens were killed and others were injured when the occupation bombed a house belonging to the Joudeh family in the Al-Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza City.

The reporter added that a citizen and his son were killed when the occupation forces bombed a house in the city of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip. Two other citizens were also killed and several others were injured when the occupation forces bombed tents housing displaced persons west of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip.

The correspondent reported that a citizen was killed and others were injured when Israeli warplanes bombed the home of the Al-Kharoubi family near the bus station in Al-Bureij camp in the central Gaza Strip.

Dozens of civilians were killed and injured on Tuesday night in Israeli shelling of Al-Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza City.

Local sources reported that eight civilians, including two children, were killed and more than 30 others were injured in an Israeli airstrike targeting a house in Al-Shati refugee camp.
