Updated: On Saturday, groups of illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers carried out a series of violations in the occupied West Bank, assaulting Palestinians, burning and bulldozing land, and establishing an outpost.
In Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank, paramilitary colonizers invaded Masafer Yatta, south of the city, and hurled stones at Palestinian shepherds and farmers, and threatened to harm families if they left their homes.
In Ramallah, located in the central West Bank, colonizers invaded Palestinian agricultural land in the Marj ath-Thahab area, east of Al-Mughayyir village, northeast of the city.
Local sources reported that the fire consumed large swaths of land before Palestinians managed to contain it.
In Jericho, in the northeastern West Bank, a group of colonizers gathered around the Al-‘Awja Spring, preventing Palestinians from entering the area. They later attacked several vehicles, causing damage.
In Bethlehem, colonizers invaded Palestinian farmland in the Beit Ta’mar area, east of the city, and established an illegal outpost.
Hasan Breijiyya, a researcher specializing in Israel’s illegal colonial activities, stated that colonizers bulldozed Palestinian agricultural land in the Khallet Al-Qasr area before setting up the outpost.
All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.
Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory”.
