Israeli occupation forces launched a deadly airstrike Tuesday night, targeting a school sheltering displaced families east of Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, killing and wounding dozens of civilians, including many children and women, just hours after an earlier fatal strike on the same school.

Medical sources reported that at least ten Palestinians were killed and more than fifty others wounded when the army bombarded Abu Hmeisa school before medics and rescue teams rushed them to hospitals in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza.

They added that the attack on the school was the second in just a few hours, as the earlier bombing killed 20 Palestinians and wounded dozens more, including women and children.

Among the dead were at least seven children, whose bodies were found scattered across the school grounds due to the force of the explosion.

Rescue efforts continued despite limited resources, as emergency teams worked to locate survivors and retrieve bodies from under the rubble.

In another strike, Israeli warplanes bombed a tent sheltering displaced families west of Gaza City, causing additional casualties.

In addition, a separate drone attack targeted a home in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, leaving multiple residents injured.

Earlier in the day, two people were killed and others injured when Israeli forces bombed a home southeast of Deir al-Balah, in central Gaza. Another airstrike in the same area killed four more civilians and wounded several others.
The number of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces in Gaza on Tuesday alone has risen to more than 37, including children and women, with dozens more injured.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) has warned that hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in Gaza are surviving on one meal every two to three days, as Israel continues to enforce a blockade preventing the entry of humanitarian aid for over two months.

According to UNRWA, the blockade has led to severe food shortages, with more than 1,000 children suffering from critical malnutrition due to the lack of essential supplies.

UNRWA also accused Israel of deliberately imposing starvation on Gaza’s population for political motives, describing the situation as “absolute cruelty.”

Medical teams in Gaza warn that hospitals are overwhelmed, struggling to treat critically malnourished children amid severe shortages of medicine and essential supplies.

In a statement posted on X today, Tuesday, UNRWA declared that “the deliberate, politically motivated starvation in Gaza is an expression of absolute cruelty,” emphasizing that humanitarian aid should never be used as a weapon to address hunger.

The agency criticized Israel’s proposed model for aid distribution, stating that it “falls far short of addressing the catastrophic hunger crisis.”

UNRWA reaffirmed that humanitarian organizations remain committed to delivering aid to all those in need, without exception.

Humanitarian organizations report that aid convoys carrying food and medical supplies remain blocked at border crossings, unable to reach those in desperate need. Meanwhile, the cost of necessities has skyrocketed, making survival even more difficult for families trapped in the besieged enclave.

The worsening crisis has prompted urgent calls for international intervention, as aid agencies stress that immediate action is needed to prevent further loss of life.

The UN World Food Programme (WFP) has noted a 1,400% increase in food prices, making basic necessities unaffordable for most families, further exacerbating the crisis.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported that Israel has restricted Palestinians’ access to 70% of Gaza, either by designating large areas as no-go zones or issuing forced displacement orders.

Israeli attacks have now killed at least 52,615 Palestinians, including more than 18,000 children and 12,400 women. Additionally, about 11,160 Palestinians remain trapped under the rubble in various parts of the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, the number of wounded Palestinians has exceeded 118,752, primarily children, women, and elderly individuals.
