On Tuesday, the Israeli army continued the bombing and shelling of various parts of the destroyed and besieged Gaza Strip, killing and wounding dozens of Palestinians, including women and children.

In Gaza City, the army detonated dozens of homes near the University College of Applied Sciences in the Tal Al-Hawa neighborhood, south of the city, and fired a missile at a home for the Daghmash family, near the Jordanian field hospital in the Sabra neighborhood, causing casualties.

The Israeli also army fired missiles and shells at many homes in the Al-Boreij, Al-Maghazi, and Nusseirat refugee camps, in addition to the Al-Musaddar village, in central Gaza, killing at least thirteen Palestinians and wounding dozens, including many children and women.

An earlier Israeli bombing killed three Palestinians and injured several others in a home in the Al-Maghazi refugee camp.

Four Palestinians were killed and many injured when the army fired missiles at homes in the Al-Boreij refugee camp, including the home of a journalist, Mohammad Ghanem.

In Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, the army fired missiles and artillery shells at homes in the Al-Qarara town, east of the city, causing many casualties.

Media sources said that, within just a few hours, the army destroyed four residential towers, also causing severe damage to all surrounding homes, and fired a missile at a room in a school where families sheltered, but the classroom was empty.

Also, at least two Palestinians were killed and many injured when the army fired a missile at a home for the Al- ‘Amsi family in the new camp in Nusseirat refugee camp.

Furthermore, an Israeli drone fired a missile at Palestinians, east of Rafah, in the Gaza Strip’s southmost area, killing at least two and injuring several others.

The Israeli army continued its invasions and bombings of large parts of Rafah, in Gaza’s southmost area, wired and detonated dozens of homes near the perimeter fence with Egypt.

At least four Palestinians were killed, and many were injured when the army fired missiles at the Khirbat Al-Adas area, north of Rafah, while the medics also found the corpses of four Palestinians under the rubble.

Furthermore, the army fired many artillery shells at various areas in the center of Rafah city and its western parts.

The Palestinian Health Ministry said the Israeli army committed seven massacres against families in the Gaza Strip over the last 24 hours, killing 71 Palestinians and wounding 182, including many women and children.

Israel has now killed at least 36.550 Palestinians, and injured more than 82.959, mostly women and children, in addition to the thousands of missing Palestinians, largely under the rubble of bombarded homes and buildings, since October 7. 2023.

The IDF launched an operation on Tuesday in central Gaza's al-Bureij, for the third time since the start of the war. According to the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in central Gaza's Deir al-Balah, 141 bodies and 380 wounded people were brought to the hospital in a 24-hour period as the result of strikes in al-Bureij, Nuseirat and Deir al-Balah.

"We cannot receive any more wounded," hospital spokesman Dr. Khalil al-Daqran said. "There is tremendous pressure on the medical staff, we cannot control the situation."

Human rights organization Doctors Without Borders reported Wednesday that dozens of bodies of women and children were brought to the hospital.

Israeli ground forces launch new incursion into a central Gaza refugee camp

By NIDAL AL-MUGHRABI AND HENRIETTE CHACAR REUTERS • June 4, 2024

JERUSALEM — Israeli shelling and airstrikes killed at least 19 people in central and south Gaza on Tuesday, including two police officers who were helping protect humanitarian aid deliveries in the southern city of Rafah, Palestinian medics said.

Seventeen of the deaths, they said, occurred in separate Israeli airstrikes on the al-Bureij and al-Maghazi refugee camps and the city of Deir-al-Balah in central Gaza, and by late Tuesday tanks were shelling an area just east of the al-Nusseirat camp, residents said.

Some told Reuters via chat app that the renewed Israeli military push was sowing panic, with some families living in al-Maghazi starting to flee under tank fire, with four shells crashing near a clinic in the camp.

In a brief statement issued earlier in the day, the Israeli military said jets were hitting Hamas militant targets in central Gaza while ground forces were operating “in a focused manner with guidance from intelligence” in the al-Bureij area.

It gave no update on activity in Rafah, into which Israeli forces swept last month in what the military calls a limited operation to root out Hamas’ last intact combat units after almost eight months of devastating war in the Gaza Strip.

The small city fringing Gaza’s southern border with Egypt had been sheltering about one million Palestinians who fled Israeli assaults in other parts of the enclave, but most have fled again in the face of Israel’s tank-led advance.

Israel launched an air and ground offensive in Gaza last October vowing to destroy Hamas after militants stormed across the border into southern Israel on Oct. 7, killing around 1,200 people and taking more than 250 people hostage, according to Israeli tallies.

About 120 hostages remain in Gaza. The Israeli military campaign has killed more than 36,000 people in densely populated Gaza, according to its health authorities, who say thousands more bodies are buried under rubble.
