On Friday night, Israeli soldiers abducted a Palestinian father, his wife, and two of their sons in Burqin town, west of Jenin in the occupied West Bank’s northern part.
Media sources reported that several military jeeps invaded the town before the soldiers stormed the home of former political prisoner Sultan Khallouf, ransacking the property in search of him.
After failing to locate Sultan, the soldiers abducted his father and two brothers, allegedly to pressure him into surrendering to the army.
It is worth noting that, on Thursday, the soldiers abducted Khallouf’s wife, Nabila, and released her at dawn on Friday.
The army has repeatedly invaded the Khallouf family home and their social hall over the past several months, attempting to abduct Sultan, and has frequently detained and interrogating several family members.
In related news, Israeli soldiers invaded Beit Fajjar town, south of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank, sparking protests, before they shot a teenage boy.
At dawn on Friday, Israeli soldiers abducted three Palestinians from their homes in the Nablus governorate, located in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.
As of early April, over 9,900 Palestinians remain in Israeli prisons, including 3,498 administrative detainees, 400 children, and 27 women. Among Gaza detainees, 1,747 have been labeled as “illegal combatants” by Israeli authorities, a designation that excludes many others, especially those held in military camps.
Before October 7, 2023, Israeli prisons held more than 5,250 detainees, including 40 women, 170 children, and approximately 1,320 administrative detainees.
