An eight-month-pregnant woman and a 21-year-old were reported dead during an Israeli military operation in the Nur al-Shams refugee camp

Two women were killed by Israeli military fire in the Nur al-Shams refugee camp near Tul Karm, the Palestinian Health Ministry in Ramallah reported.
According to the ministry, 23-year-old Sundus Shalabi was eight months pregnant when she was shot dead. It said her husband was also seriously wounded and that medical personnel were unable to save the fetus because military activity in the area delayed their arrival on the scene and her evacuation to the hospital.
The ministry said 21-year-old Rahaf al-Ashqar had also been killed by Israeli fire.
Witnesses said Shalabi was shot alongside her husband as they tried to flee the camp in their car when the military operation began. Other witnesses said the couple sought to leave the area after the military pressured residents to leave their homes and said that they were hit by gunfire while they were driving. The military has yet to comment.
On Sunday, the IDF expanded the operation it began last month in the West Bank to Nur al-Shams. The army says that forces began operating there Saturday night, alongside Shin Bet and Border Police forces, and they had killed several armed militants and arrested other suspects in the area.
Defense Minister Israel Katz stated after the expansion of the operation: "We are crushing the terror infrastructure in the refugee camps and preventing its return." He also said that Israel would not allow the Iranian axis "to establish an eastern terrorist front" that would threaten the communities of the northern West Bank, and the Israeli population.
Last month, the IDF launched a major counter-terrorism operation in Jenin. Dubbed "Iron Wall," the operation began with drone strikes on weapons caches, and a large number of forces entering the northern West Bank city.
Last week, the army announced that the operation had been expanded to the town of Tammun. On Saturday, Palestinian sources reported that Israeli forces withdrew from Tamun, and that Israeli army fire was seen in the Al-Fara refugee camp south of Tubas.
According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, since the start of 2025, 71 Palestinians in have been killed by the army in the West Bank, 65 of them in its northern area.

Israeli Forces Killed Three Palestinians, Injure Seven, Near Tulkarem

On Sunday, Israeli forces killed three Palestinians, including two women, and injured 7 others, one critically, in the Nur Shams refugee camp, east of Tulkarem in the northwestern part of the West Bank.
The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed the death of the young man, Iyas Adli Fakhri Al-Akhras, 20, in the Nur Shams refugee camp.
For its part, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that its ambulance crews transported the body of the slain young man to hospital in Tulkarem city.
Media sources said that the young man was killed by occupation forces during exchange of fire at close range in the Nur Shams refugee camp, adding that he was a resistance fighter affiliated with the Al-Qassam brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas”.
Meanwhile, on Sunday afternoon, the army killed a young woman after detonating the door to her home in the Nur Shams refugee camp, while her father sustained a live gunshot wound to the leg.
The Health Ministry confirmed the death of the young woman, Rahaf Fouad Abdullah Al-Ashqar, 21, while she was in her home, adding that soldiers shot her father in the thigh with a live round.
The Shireen Observatory quoted the Israeli Haaretz newspaper which reported that the Israeli army “placed a bomb in order to blow up the entrance to the house and storm it without informing the residents of the building of the bomb and the intention to detonate it. Rahaf opened the door and as soon as she did so, the bomb exploded and killed her.”
The PRCS reported that its ambulance crews transported a 14-year-old girl to hospital after she was was shot with live ammunition by occupation forces.
Furthermore, occupation forces killed a Palestinian woman who was eight months pregnant and critically injured her husband in the Nur Shams camp, on Sunday morning.
The Palestinian Health Ministry announced the death of the young woman, Sondos Jamal Mohammad Shalabi, 23, and the critical injury of her husband in the Nur Shams refugee camp.
Media sources said that the couple was attempting to escape the Israeli aggression in the camp when occupation forces opened fire at their vehicle, killing the pregnant woman and critically wounding her husband after shooting him in the head with live ammunition.
Sources added that Israeli soldiers prevented ambulance crews from entering the camp to transport the injured, later transporting the slain mother-to-be and her critically injured husband to the Martyr Dr. Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital in Tulkarem; her husband was later transferred to a hospital in Ramallah for specialized treatment.
Media sources reported that soldiers shot a total of seven Palestinian citizens, including one critically, during the aggression against the Nur Shams camp, including a 14-year-old child, and two young men who were shot in the hand.
At dawn Sunday, Israeli forces expanded their assault against the Tulkarem governorate to the Nur Shams camp; for fourteen consecutive days, the army has persisted in its aggression against Tulkarem city and the Tulkarem refugee camp.
Media sources said that occupation forces stormed the Nur Shams refugee camp on Sunday dawn, imposing a strict siege on the camp, and deploying infantry units throughout.
Sources added that soldiers invaded many citizens’ homes in the camp, forcibly removing citizens from their homes, before converting them into military barracks.
Israeli reconnaissance drones hovered in the airspace above the camp, while armed Palestinian resistance fighters confronted the attacking army, while the sounds of loud explosions were heard throughout the camp.
Military reinforcements arrived at the camp, accompanied by armored bulldozers which carried out sabotage operations, destroying streets and infrastructure, including water lines.
Media sources said that soldiers abducted an undetermined number of young men after invading their homes, and took them to an unknown location, in addition to opening fire with live rounds and concussion grenades at homes and shops, and burned a home on the main street of the camp.
For the fourteenth consecutive day, Israeli forces have maintained their aggression and siege of the city of Tulkarem and the Tulkarem refugee camp. amid widespread destruction of infrastructure, and the forced displacement of Palestinian citizens.
