JENIN, January 26, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces continued on Sunday to destroy, demolish and set fire to Palestinian residents’ homes in the Jenin refugee camp, in the northern occupied West Bank.
WAFA correspondent said that Israeli forces have destroyed large sections of the Al-Damaj and Al-Bashar neighborhoods. The destruction continued in the Abdullah Azzam neighborhood and the Talat al-Ghabz area. According to the correspondent, thick clouds of smoke rose from numerous homes set on fire, alongside the ongoing demolitions.
The Israeli military continued to deploy reinforcements, including bulldozers, into Jenin city. Military vehicles were positioned in front of the Jenin Governmental Hospital, while warplanes and drones were actively flying over the city and the camp.
Jenin Governor, Kamel Abu al-Rub, stated this morning that the occupation forces have so far detonated 20 homes in the camp and are working to divide the camp into four parts by destroying streets and demolishing and burning homes.
The governor expressed concern about the potential presence of slain Palestinians and wounded in the camp, as rescue teams have been unable to access the area. Additionally, journalists have been barred from entering the camp.
He confirmed the arrival of six aid trucks from the Ministries of Social Development and Local Government, which will be distributed to families in Jenin.
