On Friday, January 3, 2025, day 455 of Israel’s ongoing, relentless assault on the entire Palestinian population of 2.2 million people in the Gaza prison camp, Israeli forces continued their attacks on civilians.

In addition to attacking the Al-Awda Hospital, the Israeli military dropped a number of bombs in Gaza City, killing 35.

7:46 pm

Three Palestinian citizens were killed and others were injured on Friday evening when the Israeli occupation forces bombed a house in Al-Da’wa neighborhood, north of Al-Nuseirat camp, in the central Gaza Strip.

Local sources reported that the Israeli occupation artillery heavily bombed the Al-Safawi and Al-Nazla areas in the northern Gaza Strip.

6:27 pm

The Israeli occupation army threatened to bomb the Al-Awda Hospital in Jabalia camp, north of the Gaza Strip, demanding the evacuation of patients and hospital staff.

The Israeli occupation army threatened about 96 medical staff and patients, demanding that they evacuate it immediately, saying that they plan to detonate the entire hospital. Destroying this hospital would deprive 40,000 Palestinians of health care in the northern Gaza Strip.

The Israeli occupation army fired bombs from drones towards the reception and emergency departments, which led to the injury of a number of medical staff. The Israeli artillery then continued to fire towards the hospital courtyard and its gates.

Al-Awda Hospital in the Tel al-Zaatar area of Jabalia camp is the last medical stronghold in the northern Gaza Strip, where the occupation has been besieging those inside for 90 days, amid catastrophic health and humanitarian conditions.

The Israeli occupation’s aggression on Al-Awda Hospital comes within the context of targeting numerous health facilities and hospitals in the Gaza Strip. Several days ago, the Israeli army burned Kamal Adwan Hospital in the town of Beit Lahia, north of the Strip, which is one of the largest hospitals in that area, and provided its services to more than 400,000 people.

At that time, the Israeli occupation army forced the hospital patients, the injured, and the medical staff, including the hospital director, Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, and the press crews, to evacuate the hospital by force, while shells and bullets were being fired at it, as the fire destroyed the operating rooms, laboratory, ambulance, emergency, and reception departments.

He also forced the medical staff, patients and companions to take off their clothes in the extreme cold, and took them to an unknown location outside the hospital.

Communication was completely cut off with those inside Kamal Adwan Hospital, after the Israeli occupation army surrounded it and demanded that the medical staff, patients and companions, estimated at around 350 citizens, including 170 medical staff, all exit the hospital and go to the courtyard, where many were taken by the military to unknown destinations.

5:37 pm

Seven Palestinian citizens, including four children, were killed and others were injured in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza City, north of the Gaza Strip.

A Wafa news correspondent said that the Israeli occupation forces launched raids on the Shuja’iyya neighborhood in Gaza City, which resulted in the killing of 7 citizens, including 4 children and a woman, and the wounding of a number of others, some of whom were critically injured.

In this context, the Israeli occupation army threatened the medical staff, patients and workers at Al-Awda Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip with bombing the hospital and those inside it, if it was not evacuated.

Yesterday, large fires broke out around the hospital, as a result of the continuous shelling and the Israeli occupation forces setting fire to its surroundings.

3:45 pm

Six Palestinian citizens, including three children, were killed on Friday in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza City.

A Wafa news correspondent said that the Israeli occupation forces targeted the vicinity of the Candle Mosque in the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, with missiles, which resulted in the martyrdom of 3 children and the injury of a number of citizens.

A citizen was also killed and others were injured when the occupation aircraft bombed a group of citizens near the East Bakery on Al-Nasr Street, west of Gaza City.

Two citizens were also killed when a reconnaissance aircraft bombed a civilian vehicle in the Al-Ta’abin area, south of Al-Zawaida, in the central Gaza Strip.

Medical sources said that 42 martyrs have been killed since dawn today, in Israeli raids on various areas in the Gaza Strip.

7:31 am

Twelve Palestinian citizens were killed and others were injured, Friday morning, in Israeli occupation forces’ shelling of various areas in the Gaza Strip.

A Wafa news correspondent reported that three citizens, including journalist Omar Al-Diraoui, were killed in an Israeli bombing that targeted the Shalt family’s house in the town of Al-Zawaida in the central Gaza Strip.

Four Palestinian citizens were killed and others were injured when the Israeli occupation targeted the Salman family’s house and a tent next to it, west of Deir al-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip.

A Palestinian citizen was also killed when the Israeli occupation forces bombed a house near the Abd al-Aal intersection on al-Jalaa Street, west of Gaza City.

Another Palestinian citizen was killed when the occupation forces targeted the Abu Al-Ajeen area, east of Deir Al-Balah.

The Wafa news correspondent indicated that the death toll from the Israeli bombing of a house belonging to the Mishmish family in “Burj Beidas” in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip rose to five killed, including two children.

The Israeli occupation continues its aggression on the Gaza Strip, by land, sea and air, since October 7, 2023, which resulted in the killing of 45,581 citizens, the majority of whom are women and children, and the injury of 108,438 others, in an incomplete toll, as thousands of victims are still under the rubble and in the streets, and ambulance and rescue crews cannot reach them.

This is how the Israeli army arrested Dr. Husam Abu Safyia, director of Kamal Edwan Hospital—exposing the absurdity of pro-Israel propagandist accounts accusing him of being a "colonel in Hamas." They knew very well he is just a doctor.
