On Monday, Israeli soldiers invaded and ransacked many homes of political prisoners and ex-detainees in occupied Jerusalem, in the West Bank, and confiscated cash and cars, the Wadi Hilweh Information Center In Silwan (Silwanic) said.
Amjad Abu Assab, the head of the Jerusalem Detainees’ Parents Committee, said the soldiers ransacked many homes of political prisoners and former detainees, causing excessive damage, and interrogated many Palestinians.
Abu Assab said the soldiers invaded the home of former political prisoner Yacoub Abu Assab and confiscated a car for his family and other property in their home, for receiving a salary from the Palestinian Authority.
The soldiers also invaded the home of former detainee Bassel Obeidat in Jabal Al-Mokabber town and ransacked the property before confiscating his father’s car in addition to a sum of cash, also for receiving a salary from the Palestinian Authority.
In addition, the army invaded the home of former detainee Mohammad Kamal Obeid in Al-Isawiya town before confiscating a motorcycle and some gold and imposing a 40 thousand Shekels fine.
Also in Al-Isawiya, the soldiers invaded the home of detainee Mohammad Bakr Mustafa, ransacked the property, stormed his home, confiscated his car, and invaded the home of detainee Mohammad Al-Abbassi before confiscating his father’s car and some cash.
It is worth mentioning that the soldiers also invaded and ransacked the homes of several former political prisoners, including Mousa Fatafta, Omar Obeid, Ala’ Salah, Ezzeddin Barbar, his son Abdul-Rahim, Ghazi Kanaan, Mohammad Odah, Majd Karaki, Anas Abu Sneina, Ahmad Manasra, and Hasan Khalfawi.
In Silwan town, the soldiers invaded the home of former political prisoner Mohammad Odah and searched it.
In Jerusalem’s Old City, the soldiers stormed and ransacked the home of former political prisoner, Hasan Khalfawi.
In Beit Hanina, north of Jerusalem, the soldiers invaded the home of detainee Ahmad Manasra, before confiscating his father’s car and some cash.
On January 30, the General Comm1ittee at the Israeli Knesset approved in first reading various laws regarding stripping “residency rights” of any Palestinian detainee from occupied Jerusalem who receives or received a salary from the Palestinian Authority and was convicted of “endangering the security of the state.”
