Settlers entered the Palestinian village of Jalud, northeast of Ramallah, and attacked village residents and property by throwing rocks and attempting to start fires on Tuesday night.
According to Head of the Jalud Regional Council, Ra'ad Haj Muhammad, settlers entered an area of the village close to the illegal Ahiya outpost and threw rocks, as well as attempted to set fire to a house and plot of land. Palestinians retaliated by also throwing rocks back at settlers.
The police arrived after the incident has already ended and employed stun grenades and tear gas. Palestinians reported the use of rubber bullets, which injured three more people, however the IDF denies rubber bullets were used.
A security source confirmed that no settlers were detained or arrested at the scene.
Another attack in Jalud occurred last year, when settlers burned five cars after a shooting attack in the central Israeli city of Hadera left two Border Police officers dead. Palestinian residents of the village said at the time that they were afraid of settlers all year round, but were especially on high alert after such attacks for fear of revenge.
On Wednesday, Israeli army Military Police detectives arrested four soldiers, including an officer, on suspicion of attacking a Palestinian man while he was detained by the army on Saturday night, also in the Ramallah area. The soldiers have since been released, but the investigation is ongoing.

May 31,2023
On Wednesday evening, many Palestinians were injured while defending their homes and property after paramilitary colonizers invaded Jaloud town, south of Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.
Paramedic Bashar Qaryouti said dozens of colonizers attacked homes, cars, and other property in Jaloud before Israeli soldiers invaded the town and fired rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs, and concussion grenades at the locals who were trying to repel the colonizers’ attack.
He added that the soldiers shot three Palestinians with rubber-coated steel bullets and caused dozens, including many children, to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation.
The colonizers also hurled stones at the Palestinians and their homes, injuring seven who were treated for their wounds.
The Palestinian Civil Defense evacuated three families from their homes after the colonizers surrounded the properties and tried to invade them.
The colonizers fled Jaloud after dozens of Palestinians, including many from surrounding villages and towns, rushed to the town to help the locals.
In related news, the paramilitary Israeli colonizers attacked many homes and cars near Jenin and Nablus, in the northern parts of the occupied West Bank, and closed a main street near Bethlehem.
In Bethlehem, the soldiers invaded the southern area of Al-Khader town, south of the city, and fired many gas bombs and concussion grenades at the Palestinians who protested the attack.
