Updated: The Palestinian Health Ministry in the Gaza Strip has reported, Tuesday dawn, that several Israeli airstrikes targeting several areas in the besieged coastal region have led to at least thirteen deaths, including four children and six women and family members, and at least twenties injuries. Update: According to Maan News Agency, three of the assassinated Palestinians are Khalil Al-Bahtini, 44, Tareq Ezzeddin, 44, and Jihad Ghannam, 63.

Israel believes Al-Bahtini directed the firing of homemade shells from Gaza over the past month.

Ghannam is a leader of the Military Council of the Islamic Jihad, and Ezzeddin, from Arraba town near Jenin in the northern West Bank, is a senior leader of the movement.

Netanyahu: 'We choose the time and the place to hit our enemies'
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the nation on Tuesday evening, following a series of deadly airstrikes in the Gaza Strip.

Netanyahu said that Israel had prepared the airstrikes for several days. "I fully understand wanting to immediately hit back at whoever hurts us, but as the saying goes, 'By way of deception, thou shalt do war.'"

"We choose the time and place to hit our enemies. Since the beginning of 2023, we have thwarted over 100 attempts at attacks."

So far, three children and four women were killed in the overnight Israeli airstrikes on the Palestinian enclave which killed three Islamic Jihad commanders. With 20 injured, some critically, the numbers could soon climb

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, Israel launched an airstrike on the Gaza Strip, killing 13 Palestinians, including three senior Islamic Jihad officials.

The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza says that 10 of the 13 victims were civilians, including four women and three children.

Tareq Izzeldeen, a senior Islamic Jihad militant, and his two children Ali and Miar, were among those killed in the attack.

Also killed in the strikes is Khalil Bahtini, commander of the militant group’s activities in northern Gaza and his five-year-old daughter Hajar. Leila Bahtini, a member of their family, was also killed.

Islamic Jihad senior official Jihad Ghanam and his wife Wafaa were also killed in the attack.

It was also announced that Dr. Jamal Khaswan, who served as the chairman of the board of Al-Wafa Hospital and before that in the same role for the Gaza Dentists' Association, was among the casualties.

His wife Mirfat and his son Yousef were also killed in the Israeli strike.

The names of two other casualties were also announced: Dania Adas and her sister Iman.

According to the health ministry, 20 other people were wounded in the strikes, including women and children, some of whom are in serious or critical conditions.
