The Israeli air force, late on Saturday night, fired several missiles into different parts of the besieged Gaza Strip, in what the army claimed to be a “retaliation for a rocket” fire by resistance factions in Gaza, local sources reported.
Correspondent with the Palestine News and Information Agency (WAFA) stated that Israeli warplanes fired three missiles east of Al-Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, causing major damage to the site, and nearby civilian homes.
Israeli airstrikes caused damaged to a seafront road in Rafah, and a site west of Khan Younis city, in the southern coastal enclave, causing damage, but no casualties.
The Israeli army justified the renewed aggression as a response to a rocket launched at the southern Israeli city of Sderot by resistance factions on Saturday evening.
In related news, early Saturday morning, Israeli aircraft fired missiles, at locations in the northern, central, and southern besieged Gaza Strip, causing damage, but no casualties.
The Gaza Strip has become a humanitarian catastrophe, since the Israeli occupation imposed a strict air, land, and sea blockade, in 2007, and after four major military assaults against the two million inhabitants of the tiny coastal enclave.
