Israeli soldiers opened fire, on Friday, with live rounds and tear gas canisters towards Palestinian farmers and shepherds near Khan Younis, in the southern besieged Gaza Strip, the Palestinian News & Information Agency WAFA reported.

Correspondent for WAFA stated that the occupation army opened fire with live ammunition and tears gas canisters at Palestinian farmers and shepherds east of Khuza’a town, located east of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.

The attacked forced the shepherds and farmers to leave their work for fear of a continued assault. No injuries were noted at the time of this report.

On an an almost daily basis, the Israeli Navy harasses, shoots at, and detains fishermen who are trying to make a living, while the army shoots at defenseless Palestinian farmers and shepherds working on their land in the tiny coastal enclave.

Since 2007, the Israeli occupation has maintained a tight and comprehensive land, sea and air blockade on the Gaza Strip, controlling the movement of all people and goods, entering and leaving the occupied and besieged territory.
