An armed Israeli settler assaulted, on Sunday, a Palestinian farmer who was working in his land in Asira al-Qiblya village, south of Nablus city in the northern West Bank, Palestinian WAFA News Agency reported.
Sources stated that the illegal settler, who is a security guard of the Israeli Yitzhar colony, attacked Palestinian farmer, Usama Hamdan, causing extensive bruising. The wounded Palestinian man was transferred to a Nablus hospital for treatment.
In related news, Israeli settlers attacked, on Saturday, two Palestinian-owned poultry farms in Qusra village, southeast of Nablus, in the northern occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Information Center reported that the locals called for help through the loudspeakers of the local mosque, which elicited villagers to throw stones to confront the settler invasion.
The sources added that Israeli forces then stormed the village, and fired rubber-coated steel rounds, concussion grenades and tear-gas canisters at the Palestinians protecting their property, causing two injuries.
Ghassan Daghlas, a local official who monitors Israeli settlement activities in the area, told WAFA that a group of settlers ransacked and destroyed the contents of the poultry farms, in addition to setting a tractor on fire, and damaging water tanks.
Daghlas added that as Palestinian residents made attempts to protect their property, Israeli soldiers fired at them and protected the illegal settlers.
No further information was provided on the condition of the two casualties.
