RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli undercover forces detained three Palestinian students from inside the Birzeit University campus, northeast of Ramallah City in the central occupied West Bank, following a raid of the campus, on predawn Tuesday.

Israeli special forces detained students Tawfiq Abu Arqoub and Hamzeh Abu Qare, representative of the Islamic student bloc, and student Udayy Nakhleh.

The Birzeit University condemned the raid to the campus and the detention of three students in violation of all international laws.
The university reported that Israeli undercover forces broke down the main gate, raided the students’ council building and detained the three students.

Al-Quds University, along with other Palestinian universities, has been subjected to numerous Israeli military raids in the past.

There are 5,440 Palestinian prisoners currently being held in Israeli prisons, according to prisoners rights group Addameer.
