SALFIT (Ma'an) -- Two Palestinians were detained by Israeli forces, on Monday, on suspicion of aiding Omar Abu Leila, a Palestinian suspected of carrying out an attack near the illegal Israeli settlement of Ariel, in the northern occupied West Bank district of Salfit.

According to Ynet news outlet, Israeli forces detained two Palestinian youths, near Salfit City, on suspicion of aiding Abu Leila.

The two Palestinian youths have not yet been identified.

Sources added that Israeli forces are conducting wide-scale searches for Abu Leila, as he fled the scene after the attack.

Additionally, Israeli forces sealed off Salfit City and set up iron barriers, preventing Palestinians from passing in both directions.

On predawn Monday, Israeli forces raided Abu Leil'a family home and questioned his father. Following the raid, Israeli soldiers also searched a store belonging to the family and detained Abu Leila's parents and teenage brother.
