RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least 16 Palestinians, including minors, during predawn raids in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday.
According to Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS), Israeli forces detained three Palestinians in the southern West Bank district of Hebron. They were identified as Zayedf Mutaab and his son Thaer, Balal Muhammad Kuwazba.
In the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem, four Palestinians were detained. PPS identified them as Mousa Muhammad al-Amour, Muad Ibrahim al-Amour, Walid Abed al-Fattah Salah, 16, and Muhammad Shalbi al-Shaer, 17.
In the central West Bank district of Ramallah, another two Palestinians were detained. They were identified as Islam Ayed Falih and Yazan Mathloum.
In the northern West Bank district of Qalqiliya, one Palestinian was detained and identified as Ibrahim Jaloud.
In the northern West Bank district of Jenin, PPS said six Palestinians were detained by Israeli forces. They were identified as Muhammad samir al-Rakh, Jihad Najam, Yazan Salit, Muhammad Yousef al-Ghoul, Ayqa Nafaa Yahya, and Ahmad Jawdat Jarar.
According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,450 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons, including 215 minors, 43 of whom under 16 years old.

Israeli soldiers abducted, on Tuesday at dawn, sixteen Palestinians from their homes in several parts of the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) has reported.
The PPS office in Jenin, in northern West Bank, said the soldiers abducted six Palestinians, identified as Mohammad Samir ar-Rokh, Jihad Najm, Yazan Salit, Mohammad Yousef al-Ghoul, Aqaba Nafe’ Yahia and Ahmad Jawdat Jarrar.
In Bethlehem, the soldiers abducted Mousa Mohammad al-‘Amour, Moath Ibrahim al-‘Amour, Walid Abdul-Fattah Salah, 16, and Mohammad Shalabi Sha’er, 17.
In Hebron, in southern West Bank, the soldiers abducted Zayed Met’eb, and his son Tha’er, in addition to Bilal Mohammad Kawazba.
In Qalqilia, in northern West Bank, the soldiers abducted one Palestinian, identified as Ibrahim Jal’oud.
In Ramallah, in central West Bank, the soldiers abducted Islam Ayed Fleih and Yazan Mathloum.
These pre-dawn raids are a nightly occurrence in the West Bank, with Israeli forces invading towns and villages while the local residents are sleeping.
The Israeli troops then engage in a practice of breaking down doors, ransacking homes and grabbing young men and women from their beds as they lie sleeping.
