06:00 Feb 3 2019 Rafah, Rafah Governorate, Gaza Strip, 980, Palestinian Territories

Description
GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained five Palestinians, on Sunday morning, after they have reportedly crossed the security border fence in the southern besieged Gaza Strip.

Locals told Ma'an that Israeli forces opened fire towards five Palestinians after they crossed the border fence northeast of Rafah, in southern Gaza, and detained them.

Sources added that the Palestinians were taken to an unknown location.

Hebrew-language news outlets also confirmed the detention of the five Palestinians.

However, their identity remained unknown.

Israeli forces regularly detain Palestinians attempting to cross into Israel from the Gaza Strip, which has suffered under a nearly 12-year-long military blockade by Israel.
