RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least five Palestinians during predawn raids across the occupied West Bank, on predawn Monday.
The Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS) said that Israeli forces detained two Palestinians from the al-Arroub refugee camp north of the southern West Bank district of Hebron; PPS identified them as Hamzeh Bassam Jawaber, 19, and Izz al-Din al-Hur, 19.
Israeli forces raided and searched several homes in Dura City in the district and delivered summon notices to four former prisoners identified as Munther Muhammad Abu Atwan, Muhammad Salem al-Hreibat, Ahmad Salameh Abu Ras and Issam Masharqa.
PPS added that Israeli forces raided the Tuqu town, southeast of the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem, detaining one Palestinian after raiding and searching his family home; he was identified as Tareq Adel Atallah.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces detained another Palestinians from the nearby Harmala town, he was identified as Ahmad Adel al-Umour, 19.
Israeli forces also delivered summon notices to brothers Hamdi and Firas Nasri al-Zir.
Israeli forces detained a former Palestinian prisoner after raiding his family home in al-Tireh neighborhood in the central West Bank district of Ramallah and al-Bireh; PPS identified him as Rami Fadayil,40.
According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,500 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons.
