RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least nine Palestinians, including a minor, across the occupied West Bank on predawn Sunday.

Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) confirmed that Israeli forces detained five Palestinians in the southern West Bank district of Hebron. They were identified as Zeid Walid al-Qawasme, Adi Iyad Bassem al-Zaaqiq, Khalil Iyad Bassem al-Zaaqiq, Qatiba Nader al-Alami, and Said Halahla.

In the Tuqu village, in the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem, one Palestinian was detained and identified as Adi Mahmoud al-Amour, 16.

In the northern West Bank district of Tulkarem, Israeli forces detained two Palestinians. PPS identified them as Ahmad Ibrahim Abu Daji, 24, and Muafeq Abed Zaytoun, 54.

In the northern West Bank district of Qalqiliya, one Palestinian was detained. He was identified as Islam Nazzal.

According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,500 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons, of whom 230 are child prisoners and 41 are under the age of 16 years.
