GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces opened fire at Palestinians who approached the Israeli border fence at the borders of the besieged Gaza Strip, on Saturday afternoon.
Hebrew-language news outlets reported that shots were fired at Palestinians across three different sites near the border fence to prevent them from crossing.
Meanwhile, Israeli naval forces opened fire towards a Palestinian fishing boat.
The fishing boat had reportedly crossed the allowed fishing zone off the coast of the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli army also regularly detains and opens fire on unarmed Palestinian fishermen, shepherds, and farmers along the border areas if they approach the buffer zone, as the authorities have not made clear the precise area of the designated zone.
The practice has in effect destroyed much of the agricultural and fishing sector of the blockaded coastal enclave, which has been under an Israeli air, land, and sea blockade for 10 years.
