BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained two Palestinians, on predawn Saturday, during search and detention raids across the occupied West Bank.
Dozens of Palestinians suffered tear-gas inhalation after clashes broke out in al-Dheisheh refugee camp in the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem.
Locals told Ma'an that Israeli forces detained one Palestinian, identifying him as Mahmoud Sami Ubayyat.
Israeli special forces detained another Palestinian, he was identified as Mahmoud Issa Jabarin, a member of the Palestinian intelligence unit, from East Jerusalem.
Violent clashes erupted after dozens of Israeli soldiers raided al-Masaken al-Shaabiya neighborhood, in the northern West Bank district of Nablus.
According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,580 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons, of whom 250 are child prisoners and 35 are under the age of 16 years.
