BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces carried out search and detention raids across cities and towns of the occupied West Bank, on predawn Saturday.
In the southern West Bank district of Hebron, Israeli forces raided several houses in Halhul City.
In the central West Bank district of Jerusalem, locals reported that violent clashes erupted between Palestinian youths and Israeli forces in the al-Issawiya town.
Meanwhile in the Nablus district in the northern West Bank, Israeli soldiers detained one Palestinian youth after raiding the Tel Street in Nablus City; the youth was identified as Muhammad al-Qassas.
Israeli forces also detained another Palestinian, identified by locals as Ahmad Nasser Massoud Nasser from the Bazariya village northwest of Nablus City.
Israeli raids into Palestinian towns and villages are near daily occurrence in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,640 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons, of whom 270 are child prisoners, of whom 50 are under the age of 16 years.
