NABLUS (Ma'an) -- An Israeli soldier and an Israeli settler were injured after a Palestinian carried out a stabbing attack, on Thursday, at the Huwwara military checkpoint, south of the northern occupied West Bank district of Nablus.
According to Hebrew-language news outlets, that an Israeli settler was injured by Israeli live ammunition after Israeli forces opened fire at a Palestinian, who stabbed one of the soldiers at the Huwwara military checkpoint.
Sources confirmed that the Palestinian suspect managed to flee the scene, however, was witnessed to have suffered injuries due to Israeli forces shooting at him with live ammunition.
Both the Israeli soldier and settler were taken to the Beilinson Hospital at the Rabin Medical Center, in central Israel, to receive medical treatment.
The Israeli soldier suffered stab injuries to the head, hand and back and was reported to be in light-to-moderate condition.
Meanwhile, the Israeli settler was reported to have suffered light injuries to her lower body.
Israeli forces sealed off all main entrances to the Nablus district, including the Huwwara and Zaatara checkpoints, the entrance of the illegal Shavi Shamron settlement with iron gates and Innab checkpoint.
Israeli forces are conducting extensive searches of Palestinian residents and vehicles.
