RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least six Palestinians, including a woman, during raids on predawn Friday in the northern occupied West Bank.
Local sources confirmed that Israeli forces detained one Palestinian in the Jammain village in the northern West Bank district of Nablus; he was identified as Ramez Hashash.
In the northern West Bank district of Tulkarem, three Palestinians were detained; they were identified as Suleiman Izzam Abu Sheikha, Salah Bassam Abu Sheikha and Jihad Imad Ighbaryeh.
In Beit Lid village, in the northern West Bank district of Tulkarem, Israeli forces detained one Palestinian, she was identified as Khuloud Azzam Youssef Farij, the niece of Ashraf Naawla, who carried out a shooting attack on Sunday, killing two Israeli settlers and injuring a third.
From the same area, one Palestinian was detained and identified as Ibrahim Nimer Ibrahim Nayfeh. In addition, while detaining him, Israeli forces assaulted Nayfeh's father and other family members present.
Sources added that Israeli forces stormed the Ramin village, east of the northern West Bank district of Tulkarem, and raided several Palestinian homes, as well as conducted searches in the lands and hills surrounding the village.
According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,640 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons, of whom 53 are female prisoners.
