RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least eight Palestinians from areas across the occupied West Bank during predawn raids on Saturday.
In the Tulkarem district in the northern West Bank, Israeli forces re-detained Walid Suleiman Abu Sheikha, father of Ashraf Naalwa, who had carried out a shooting attack, and his mother Wafaa Mahmoud Abed al-Rahman Mahdawi.
Both were released shortly after.
Israeli forces also detained former prisoner Ghassan Mahmoud Abed al-Rahman Mahdawi and Khalid Hani Khalid Misameh after raiding their homes in Tulkarem.
Locals said that Israeli forces also detained a Palestinian identified as Nayif Raja, after raiding and searching his home in the al-Rabayaa neighborhood of Tulkarem refugee camp; Raja was released shortly after.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces detained a father and son from the Anabta town in eastern Tulkarem, they were identified as Issam Sharraqa and his son Mutaz.
In the Beit Fajjar town in southern Bethlehem in the southern West Bank, Israeli forces detained one Palestinian identified as Muhammad Ziad Thawabta, 20, after raiding and searching his family house.
According to Palestinian prisoners' rights group Addameer, there are currently 5640 Palestinians being held in Israeli prisons.
