RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least seven Palestinians, including a mother and her daughter, on predawn Sunday during raids across the occupied west Bank.
Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) confirmed that Israeli forces detained three Jerusalemites in the central West Bank city of Jerusalem.
Among the detainees was Jihad Ghazawi along with her daughter, who were detained for unknown reasons. The third detainee was identified as Raed Zoghair, who was detained while working in the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
In the central West Bank district of Ramallah, PPS confirmed that an activist from prisoners’ rights group Addameer was detained by Israeli forces. He was identified as Ayman Amin Nasser.
In the northern West Bank district of Jenin, two Palestinians were detained and identified as Amel Ziyad Abu Ghorab and Hatem Tazaaza.
In the northern West Bank district of Tubas, Israeli forces detained one Palestinian. PPS identified him as Izz al-Din Abd al-Rahman Bisharat.
According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,871 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons, of whom 65 are female prisoners, and 270 are child prisoners, from which 50 are under the age of 16.
