NABLUS (Ma'an) -- Israeli settlers set ablaze large amounts of construction wood, on predawn Thursday, on the outskirts of the Jalud village in the northern occupied West Bank district of Nablus.
Ghassan Daghlas, an official who monitors settlement activity in the northern West Bank, said that Israeli settlers from Yesh Kodesh illegal settlement, built on the lands belonging to residents of Jalud, stormed the outskirts of the village and set ablaze large amounts of wood, used for construction purposes.
Daghlas added that the damaged construction wood belonged to Palestinian resident, Daoud Abed al-Issawi.
Locals said that the attack by Israeli settlers came as part of a series of on-going attacks on Palestinian property in the Jalud village, in order to force out the residents and seize lands in the area.
According to a report by Israeli NGO B'Tselem, Israeli settlers' vandalism in the occupied West Bank is a daily routine and is fully backed by Israeli authorities.
Known as "price tag" attacks, extremist Israeli settlers use violent acts of retribution on Palestinians and their property to demonstrate their opposition to Israeli restrictions on settlements and their outposts in the occupied West Bank.
The majority of Israeli settler attacks committed against Palestinians are met with impunity, with Israelis rarely facing consequences for such attacks.
