JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli bulldozers demolished a Palestinian home, on Wednesday, in the Palestinian neighborhood of Beit Hanina in occupied East Jerusalem.

A Ma'an reporter said that Israeli forces escorted staff members of the Jerusalem Municipality into Beit Hanina and surrounded the targeted home.

Residents of the neighborhood were prevented access to the area, while Israeli forces forcefully removed the residents from the home, to begin the demolition under the pretext that the municipality had already issued a decision.

The targeted home belonged to the Palestinian family of Farrah.

Sanas Farrah, one of the family members, said that Israeli forces broke into her home and removed her and her family by force, not allowing her to take her personal belongings.

Sanaa along with her family informed the Israeli officer in charge that their lawyer submitted a request to postpone the demolition, however, the Jerusalem Municipality did not respond or deliver any prior notices.

Farrah mentioned that her home was built over 16 years ago and that Israel had imposed a 250,000 shekel ($69,362) fine on the family, which was fully paid.

Farrah added that during the past few years, they have attempted to license the now-demolished home, but were repeatedly denied license.

"I have lived in this home and raised my children and today I live here with my grandchildren. I am afraid of their reaction when they come home from school and won't be able to find their bedrooms."

Israeli forces assaulted residents of the neighborhood, who were in the vicinity of the demolished home. Residents were pushed and beaten by Israeli forces, in attempts to remove them from the premises.

Israeli forces also detained two members of the Farrah family.
