Description
BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces announced on Sunday that one Palestinian was detained after he allegedly attempted to attack Israeli settlers in the southern occupied West Bank district of Bethlehem.

According to a Hebrew-language news outlet, a Palestinian man allegedly attacked Israeli settlers at the entrance of the illegal Israeli settlement of Tekoa, southeast of the Bethlehem district.

Sources reported that the Palestinian was carrying an iron bar and attempted to attack Israeli settlers returning to the Tekoa settlement, claiming that a number of settlers were alarmed by the incident.

Sources added that Israeli forces detained the Palestinian, however, did not reveal his identity.

Local witnesses said that sirens were sounded, requesting all residents to remain indoors until Israeli forces "search and find the infiltrators."
