BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least 16 Palestinians from across the occupied West Bank during predawn raids on Monday, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

According to PPS, five Palestinians were detained in the northern West Bank district of Nablus, and were identified as Saleh Fatin Salah, 18, Main Haris Hajeh, 19, Kamal Mahmmud Abu Arab, 18, Ahmad Haitham Shalbaye, 18, Saleh Ali Hashash, 26.

PPS confirmed three detentions in the northeastern West Bank district of Tubas, and identified the detainees as Jamil Beni Odeh, Muhammad Adnan Daraghmeh, and Kamal Jamal Daraghmeh.

From the northern district of Tulkarem, two Palestinians were detained and identified as Jihad Adnan Mustafa Naalwe, 28, and Khaled Ruslan Naalwe, 38.

Another six Palestinians were detained from the northern West Bank district of Jenin. They were identified by PPS as Qutaybah Ahmad Shalabi, Rabib Fadel Zakameh, Ahmad Said Abu Rab, Bassem Tazaazah, Imad Abu al-Hijai, and Abd al- Halim Izz al-Din.

The Israeli army said in a statement that all the detainees were transferred to Israeli intelligence for further investigation.

The army added that weapons were also found during the raids and detentions carried out in the southern West Bank city of Hebron.

According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 6,036 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons.

The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) has reported that Israeli soldiers abducted, overnight until morning hours Monday, eighteen Palestinians from several parts of the occupied West Bank.

The PPS said the soldiers invaded many communities across the West Bank, searched and ransacked dozens of homes, and abducted seventeen Palestinians.

It added that the soldiers also abducted young man, who was taking at Za’tara military roadblock, south of Nablus.

3. Ahmad Sa’id Abu ar-Rob.

Israeli Army Abducts Seven Palestinians in Tulkarem and Jenin

Israeli soldiers abducted, on Monday at dawn, seven Palestinians from their homes in the northern West Bank governorates of Tulkarem and Jenin and confiscated several mobile phones and laptops.

The Tulkarem office of the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) said a large military force invaded Shweika area, north of the city, searched many homes and abducted Jihad Anan Edheilia, 28, and Khaled Raslan Edheilia, 38.

Jihad’s father said dozens of soldiers surrounded their home, before storming it approximately at 3:30 at dawn, abducted his son, and confiscated his mobile phone.

He added that the soldiers took his son to his store, where he sells mobile phones and electronic, violently searched the store and illegally confiscated several mobile phones and laptops.

In related news, dozens of soldiers invaded Jenin city, in northern West Bank, and Qabatia town, south of Jenin, searched and ransacked many homes and abducted five Palestinians.

The abducted Palestinians have been identified as Emad Abu al-Haija, from the Eastern Neighborhood in Jenin, in addition to Qoteiba Ahmad Shalabi, Bassem Tazaz’a, Rabea Fadel al-Basha and Ahmad Sa’id Abu ar-Rob.

Local sources in Qabatia said the soldiers invaded many homes in the towns and searched them for several hours.

Israeli Soldiers Abduct A Palestinian, Invade Governorate’s Office, In Hebron

Dozens of Israeli soldiers invaded, earlier on Monday morning, the office of Hebron Governorate in the Old City, in southern West Bank, and several surrounding homes, before searching them, and installed roadblocks. The soldiers also abducted one Palestinian and detained seven others.

Media sources in Hebron said the soldiers stormed the governorate’s office in the Old City, and violently searched it, causing damage.
They added that the soldiers also stormed and ransacked several surrounding homes, owned by members of Eada and al-Mohtaseb families.

In addition, the soldiers invaded many neighborhoods in Hebron city, and installed roadblocks at Hebron’s northern entrance in Jouret Bahlas area, in addition to the main entrances of Beit Awwa and Sa’ir nearby towns.
The soldiers stopped and searched dozens of cars, and interrogated many Palestinians, while inspecting their ID cards.

Furthermore, the soldiers installed a roadblock at the entrance of Zeef village, near Hebron, and abducted one Palestinian, identified as Ra’fat Mosallam ‘Ashour, 31, from Hebron city.

The soldiers also briefly detained seven Palestinians, in Hebron city, after stopping them at a sudden military roadblock.

The seven residents were cuffed, while the soldiers examined their ID cards, and interrogated them for several hours.

On Monday at dawn, the soldiers abducted seven Palestinians from their homes, in the northern West Bank governorates of Tulkarem and Jenin, and confiscated several mobile phones and laptops.
