Description
HEBRON (Ma’an) -- Israeli military forces on Monday arrested the owner of a money exchange shop in Hebron and confiscated the contents of the store.
A Ma'an correspondent reported that Hamdi Naem al-Natsha was detained by Israeli forces after soldiers ransacked his shop in the Ibn Rushd area of the city.
Soldiers confiscated the contents of a safe in the store, together with other items, Ma'an's reporter said.
An Israeli army spokeswoman said "a man was arrested as his store is suspected as a place for money laundry."
Hebron, dotted with Jewish settlements and divided into zones of Israeli and Palestinian control, is a microcosm of the occupied West Bank, where Palestinians have self-rule over islands of territory surrounded by areas of Israeli control.
Around 800 Jewish settlers live among 30,000 Palestinians in the parts of the ancient city that are under Israeli control.
