RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained 17 Palestinians overnight between Wednesday and Thursday across the West Bank, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS).
In the northern West Bank, PPS reported that Israeli forces detained four teenagers from the Kafr Than town in the Jenin district. They were identified as brothers Hamzeh and Muhammad Abd al-Jabbar Salah, Ahmad Aaref Salah and Muhammad Walid Salah.
Two other Palestinians were detained from the Tubas district, and were identified as Alaa Khalid Muhammad Sbeih and Alaa Yassir al-Halabi.
Israeli forces also detained Kamel Youssef al-Basha from Nablus.
In the central West Bank, Israeli forces detained four Palestinians from the Ramallah district. PPS identified them as Sultan Bawadi, Rashad Mirshed Hammad, Muhammad Omar Hamed and Rafat Radwan.
PPS said that Israeli forces detained three Palestinians from the Jerusalem district. Areej Amjad Hushieh, 18, was detained from her hometown of Qutna northwest of Jerusalem, while Rashed Khalid Hamad and Ahmad Khalid Abd al-Raouf were detained from the Qalandiya refugee camp.
In the southern West Bank city of Bethlehem, Israeli forces detained local activist Munther Amireh during a peaceful protest at the northern end of the city in front of Israel’s separation wall.
PPS said that two Palestinians were detained from the Hebron district. They were identified Muhammad Ibrahim Arrar, 22, and Hayel Ali Jbara al-Ammarin.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army said in a statement that 14 Palestinians were detained during pre dawn raids on Thursday while Israeli forces confiscated thousands of shekels during raids.
Meanwhile, hundreds of Israeli settlers raided the Kifl Hares village in Salfit in the central West Bank to perform religious rituals under armed security by Israeli forces.
Clashes erupted between youths and Israeli soldiers. No injuries were reported.
Israeli raids into Palestinian towns and villages are near daily occurrence in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
According to the UN, between December 5 and the 18th, Israeli forces carried out 162 search and arrest operations in the West Bank.
