BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) -- Israeli forces detained at least 14 Palestinians during predawn raids on Wednesday across the occupied West Bank, according to Israeli and Palestinian sources.
The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) reported that Israeli forces detained eight Palestinians in the West Bank, and placed three minors from occupied East Jerusalem under house arrest.
According to PPS, the Israeli army detained three Palestinians from the southern West Bank district of Hebron, three from the Bethlehem area,an 18-year-old from the Qalqiliya-area town of Joyous, and a 48-year-old man from the Tulkarem refugee camp.
Locals in Hebron told Ma’an that three Palestinians were detained from Beit Ummar, and that a Palestinian man and his son were detained from Bani Naim after forces allegedly found ammunition in their home.
An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an that 14 Palestinians were detained from the West Bank overnight.
Meanwhile, Israeli police released three minors from East Jerusalem on Wednesday after their families posted a bail of $285 for each. They teens were ordered to house arrest for five days, according to Palestinian Authority (PA)-owned Wafa news agency.
Israeli raids in Palestinian towns, villages, and refugee camps are a daily occurrence in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
According to United Nations documentation, Israeli forces conducted 121 search and arrest operations across the West Bank and arrested 205 Palestinians, including nine children, between September 26 and October 9.

HEBRON (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces carried out search and detention raids in the Hebron-area town of Beit Ummar in the southern occupied West Bank, detaining three Palestinians and assaulting several others on Wednesday at dawn.
Local activist Muhammad Ayyad Awad told Ma’an that Israeli army forces raided the town at dawn and detained Wahid Zamel Abu Maria, 50, a former prisoner who spent 20 years in Israeli prisons and Yousif Bader Mahmoud Ikhlayyil, 37, also a former prisoner who spent four years in Israeli prisons.
According to Awad, Israeli forces assaulted Ikhlayyil in front of his wife and 8-year-old son after they broke down his front door.
Israeli forces also detained Muhammad Ibrahim Abd al-Hamid Abu Maria, 22, a former prisoner who spent two years in Israeli prisons. Israeli soldiers reportedly assaulted Abu Maria, his father, mother, and his siblings Mahdi, 14, Alaa, 23, and Baraa, 18, with the butts of their rifles.
The soldiers handcuffed the family members and left them inside one of the house’s rooms until after the soldiers left, at which time a relative arrived and untied them.
Awad added that Israeli soldiers distributed and hung up fliers demanding locals prevent their children from throwing rocks at Israeli soldiers, threatening to revoke the Israeli work permits of workers from the Abu Maria, Awad and al-Sleibi families.
An Israeli army spokesperson confirmed the three detentions to Ma'an.
Israeli raids in Palestinian towns, villages, and refugee camps are a daily occurrence in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
Israel often enforces punitive measures, including revoking permits, on entire Palestinian towns and villages for things such as stone throwing and alleged attacks on Israeli forces.

Israeli soldiers abducted, Wednesday, a Palestinian man and his son, after invading their home in Bani Naim town, north of the southern West Bank city of Hebron, after locating ammunition for M-16 rifle.
The soldiers searched the home and said they located a box containing magazines for an M-16 rifle, but not the rifle itself or any other weapons, and confiscated it along with the couple’s car, which the military suspects to be unlicensed.
The man and his son were both cuffed and blindfolded, before the soldiers took them to Etzion military base and security center for interrogation.
On Wednesday at dawn, the soldiers abducted eight Palestinians from their homes, in different parts of the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) has reported that Israeli soldiers abducted, on Wednesday at dawn, eight Palestinians from their homes, in different parts of the occupied West Bank.
The Hebron office of the PPS, in the southern part of the West Bank, said the soldiers abducted Wahid Hamdi Abu Mariya, Mohammad Ibrahim Abu Mariya, and Yousef Bader Ekhlayyel.
In Bethlehem, the soldiers abducted Mohammad Hatem Abu Ali, Mojahed Raja Abu al-Haija and Ahmad Abdul-Hadi Saffouri.
Furthermore, the soldiers abducted Omar Mahmoud Mousa, 18, from Jayyous town, northeast of Qalqilia, and Mohammad Taleb Thiab, 48, from Tulkarem refugee camp, in Tulkarem, in northern West Bank.
On Tuesday evening, the soldiers released three detained children, from occupied Jerusalem, and ordered them under house arrest for five days, in additional to imposing 1000 Shekels fine each. The three children are Mohammad Shweiki, Amir Nasrallah and Salah Abu ‘Assab.
