BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least 14 Palestinians from different areas across the occupied West Bank during search and detention raids in the predawn hours of Tuesday, according to local Palestinian sources.
An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’n that 13 Palestinians were detained overnight, without providing details on which locations the detainees were taken from.
Israeli raids in Palestinian towns, villages, and refugee camps are a daily occurrence in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
According to United Nations documentation, Israeli forces conducted 121 search and arrest operations across the West Bank and arrested 205 Palestinians, including nine children, between September 26 and October 9.
Northern & Central West Bank
In the northern West Bank district of Jenin, Israeli forces raided the Jenin refugee camp and detained former prisoner Assem Jamal Abu al-Haija.
In the village of Kafr Qalil in the Nablus area, Israeli forces detained Samer Siddeh and Kamal Abed Amer from the Kafr Qalil village, locals told Ma’an.
In the nearby city of Qalqiliya Israeli forces detained Muhammad Nufal.
Locals from the al-Jalazun refugee camp in the central West Bank district of Ramallah told Ma’an that Israeli forces detained Abd al-Rahman al-Jalis.
Meanwhile, Israeli news website Arutz Sheva reported that undercover Israeli border police officers arrested al-Jalis for “planning to carry out a terror attack in the area.” Arutz Sheva reported that al-Jalis, 30, was detained after he posted material on social media declaring his intentions to carry out an attack.
Southern West Bank
In the Bethlehem district, locals in al-Duheisha refugee camp told Ma’an that Israeli forces raided and searched several houses in the camp and detained brothers Muhannad and Murad Moussa al-Khumour, and another “youth” identified as Khalid al-Masri.
Another two Palestinians were detained from the Bethlehem area, and were identified as Saleh Amin al-Hreimi, 18, from the Khalayil al-Luz village and Ubeida Adel al-Shaer from the Husan village.
In the Hebron district, Israeli forces also raided the town of Dura where they detained former prisoner Yousif Ayid al-Faqih.
Local activist Muhammad Ayyad Awad told Ma’an that Israeli soldiers raided a gas station in the Hebron-area town of Beit Ummar and detained a young man working at the station, identified as Hamza Ali Ayyad Awad, 21.
Israeli forces also raided a house in the town after breaking in its main door, and detained 15-year-old Amin Imad Muhammad al-Sleibi. Another youth identified as Uday al-Natsheh was also detained from Beit Ummar.
