BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) -- Israeli forces detained at least eight Palestinians during overnight raids in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem in the predawn hours of Thursday, according to local sources.
In the East Jerusalem-area Shufat refugee camp, locals told Ma’an that Israeli police forces detained five “youths” from the camp after raiding and searching their homes.
The five were identified as former prisoner Mumen Khader al-Dibs, Udayy al-Dabet, Said al-Dabet, Tahsin al-Rajabi and Elias al-Rajabi.
An Israeli police spokesperson was not immediately available for comment.
Meanwhile in the central West Bank district of Jerusalem, locals told Ma’an that undercover Israeli forces detained three Palestinians from the town of al-Ram.
An Israeli army spokesperson said they did not have information on overnight detentions in the West Bank.
Israeli raids in Palestinian towns, villages, and refugee camps are a daily occurrence in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
According to United Nations documentation, Israeli forces conducted 123 search and arrest operations across the West Bank and arrested 152 Palestinians, including 20 children, between September 12 and 25.
