RAMALLAH (Ma’an) -- Israeli forces detained at least 11 Palestinians, including two teenagers, during overnight raids between Saturday and Sunday across the occupied West Bank, Israeli and Palestinian sources told Ma’an.
The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) reported that one Palestinian was detained in the Jenin district in the northern West Bank, identifying him as Mamun Asaad Qabaha.
In the central West Bank district of Ramallah, PPS reported the detention of Ibtisam and Khalid al-Abed, the mother and brother of Omar al-Abed, a Palestinian currently detained by Israel for stabbing and killing three Israeli settlers in July.
An Israeli army spokesperson confirmed the two detentions, which took place in the village of Kobar.
In the Jerusalem district, the army spokesperson told Ma’an that Israeli forces detained two Palestinians in the village of Biddu, and one in Bir Nabala.
PPS identified the two detained in Biddu as Ali Ahmad Mansour and Hassan Ibrahim Hmeidan.
In the Bethlehem district, the army said it detained two Palestinians in the village of Tuqu, whom PPS identified as Moussa Muhammad al-Umour, 15, and Riyad Talal al-Umour, 16.
In the Hebron district, the army spokesperson said that three Palestinians were detained in the village of Beit Ula overnight.
While PPS did not mention any overnight detentions in Beit Ula, the organization reported that 12 Palestinians were detained on Friday and Saturday, including a married Palestinian couple in Jerusalem.
Israeli raids in Palestinian towns, villages, and refugee camps are a daily occurrence in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, with a biweekly average of 85 search and detention raids carried thus far in 2017, according to UN documentation.

Israeli soldiers abducted, on Sunday at dawn, at least ten Palestinians, including two children, during invasions and violent searches of homes, in different parts of the occupied West Bank.
Many army vehicles invaded Teqoua’ town, east of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank, searched many homes, and abducted two children identified as Mousa Mohammad al-‘Amour, 15, and Riyad Talal al-‘Amour, 16.
Furthermore, for the second time in just a few weeks, the army invaded Kobar village, near Ramallah, and abducted Ibtisam al-‘Abed, the mother Omar, who was taken prisoner on June 21st, after stabbing three Israeli settlers to death in Halamish colony. The soldiers also abducted her other son Khaled.
The soldiers also abducted a Palestinian, identified as Ma’moun Qabaha, 28, after stopping his car at the Barta’a military roadblock, southwest of Jenn, in the northern part of the West Bank.
The army said its soldiers stopped and searched the car at the roadblock, and located an M-16 rifle.
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) said the soldiers have abducted ten Palestinians in several parts of the West Bank, and moved them to several interrogation centers.
