An Israeli army spokesperson confirmed to Ma’an that a detention was carried out in Aqqaba, adding that the individual was detained for allegedly being the head of the Hamas movement in the village.

An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an that two Palestinians were detained in Balata refugee camp, one in Nablus city, and another in the village of Tell.

Hebrew media also reported that Israeli forces detained two Palestinians at the Zaatara military checkpoint near Nablus city after their vehicle was searched and Israeli soldiers allegedly found a hunting rifle hidden near the vehicle’s engine.

In the Qalqiliya district, PPS said that Israeli forces detained Yasser Muhammad Nawfal and Raed Muhammad Salim. An Israeli army spokesperson confirmed one detention in Qalqiliya city, alleging that the individual was a Hamas operative.

An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an that three Palestinians were detained in Qalandiya for allegedly being Hamas operatives, but did not specify whether the detentions were carried in the town of Qalandiya or in the refugee camp of the same name.

PPS added that three Palestinian teenagers were also detained from the Ramallah district, identifying them as Majd Hazim Nafi, 17, Ahmad Yassin al-Khawaja, 16, and Akram Hammad, 17.

Israeli forces ambushed and detained Shawamra in front of his vegetable shop near his home and led him to an unknown location, witnesses said.

Shawamra was released from Israeli prison two months ago after serving 12 years in Israeli prison.

PPS said that in the Bethlehem district in the southern West Bank Muhannad Abu Tarboush, 19 and Ibrahim Muhammad al-Khmour, 22, were detained. An Israeli army spokesperson confirmed one detention in the village of Umm Salamuna in Bethlehem.

Local activist in the Hebron-area village of Beit Ummar Muhammad Ayyad Awwad reported that the two Palestinians were detained from their homes in Beit Ummar after Israeli forces raided the village and areas around Israel’s illegal Karmi Zur settlement.

Awad added that since June 6, Israeli forces have detained 24 Palestinians from Beit Ummar.

An Israeli army spokesperson only confirmed one overnight detention in Beit Ummar.

However, she added that three additional detentions were carried out in the Hebron-area villages of Yatta, al-Samu, and Beit Awwa.

Israeli raids in Palestinian towns, villages, and refugee camps are a daily occurrence in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, with a weekly average of 95 search and detention raids carried out over the course 2016, according to UN documentation.
