BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) -- Israeli forces detained six Palestinians, including a 14-year-old, during army raids carried out between Thursday and Friday in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, according to Palestinian and Israeli sources.
In the southern West Bank, Israeli forces detained Jihad Hisham Khalil Abu Hashem, 26, and Tariq Jamal Khalil Abu Hashem, 25, after raiding a gas station where the two work at the entrance of the village of Beit Ummar in Hebron, according to local activist Muhammad Ayyad Awwad.
Awwad added that Israeli soldiers had checked the ID cards of the young men before putting each of them in separate military jeeps and transferring them to Israel’s Etzion detention center to the north of the village.
Meanwhile, during Israel’s overnight raids, four Palestinians were detained.
An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an that two Palestinians were detained overnight, one in al-Bireh city in the central West Bank district of Ramallah and al-Bireh, while another Palestinian was detained in Hebron city for allegedly being a Hamas operative.
According to Palestinian-run Wafa news agency, Israeli forces also detained two Palestinians in occupied East Jerusalem, including a 14-year-old who was detained from his home in the neighborhood of Silwan and transferred to an interrogation center in Jerusalem city. Wafa did not provide details on the other detention.
Israeli raids in Palestinian towns, villages, and refugee camps are a daily occurrence in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
Israeli authorities carried out 90 army raids in Palestinian communities between May 16 - 29, the UN has reported. According to prisoners rights group Addameer, 6,200 Palestinians were being held in Israeli prison as of May.

Israeli soldiers invaded, on Friday at dawn, Silwan and the al-‘Eesawiyya towns, in occupied East Jerusalem, and abducted a child and a young man.
The soldiers invaded and violently searched a home in Silwan, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and abducted Amir Jawad Jaber, 14, before taking him to an interrogation center in Jerusalem.
The soldiers abducted a young man, identified as Khader Rabah Abu al-Hummus, from the al-‘Eesawiyya town, in the heart of Jerusalem, after stopping him at a military roadblock near the main entrance of Shu’fat refugee camp, north of Jerusalem.
