Description
NABLUS, (PIC)-- Elements of the PA preventive security apparatus rounded up 12 Hamas supporters in the past 24 hours in the West Bank including five students, locals said.
They said that the students were taken from their hostel in Nablus city on Monday night along with all their belongings. They noted that an uncle of one of the students, who happened to be at the hostel at time of the storming, was also detained.
Meanwhile, agents of the same apparatus detained four brothers in Salem village, near Nablus, at midnight Monday.
They also rounded up a Palestinian from Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus, and a teacher in Dura village in Al-Khalil after searching his home and took with them his personal computer and other belongings.
Hamas MP in Nablus Mona Mansour said that nothing concrete was felt in the reconciliation process in the West Bank so far, explaining that the arrests and summonses were still in full swing.
She told Quds Press on Monday that all what was published in the media about ending political detention and releasing detainees was not implemented.
Mansour doubted in this regard the possibility of holding general and presidential elections next May in light of the ongoing practices and the suppression of freedoms and political affiliation in the West Bank.
