HEBRON (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces injured a Palestinian with live ammunition on Wednesday in the southern occupied West Bank district of Hebron.

The Palestinian was identified as Marwan Zakariya al-Asous, 28, from the northern West Bank district of Nablus and was transferred to the Muhammad Ali al-Muhtaseb Hospital for treatment.

Medical sources told Ma’an that al-Asous was injured in the legs and was in moderate condition.

An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an she would look into reports of the shooting.

Some 3,393 Palestinians were injured by Israeli forces in 2016, while 213 have been injured as of March 20 this year, according to UN documentation.
