HEBRON (Ma’an) -- Israeli forces delivered 30 demolition orders to several structures in the village of Yatta in the southern occupied West Bank district of Hebron on Thursday.

Popular and national committee coordinator in the southern West Bank Ratib al-Jbour told Ma’an that Israeli forces had placed the demolition orders on lands near the structures, which included a school, tents, water wells, barracks, homes, and stockyards. He said Israeli forces also took pictures of the structures.

Al-Jbour added that Israeli forces gave the owners of the structures three days to challenge the demolition orders, but said that three days was not enough for the residents to prevent the demolitions.

He added that the structures are owned by the Abu Arram, Abu Sabha, al-Hamamda, and al-Najajra families.

In addition, Israeli forces also demolished a rainwater well in the Khashim al-Daraj area of Yatta on Thursday owned by the al-Najajra family.

A spokesperson for COGAT, the Israeli agency responsible for implementing Israeli policies in the occupied Palestinian territory was immediately available for comment.

Meanwhile, Hebron Governor Kamil Hameed said funds would be provided to all schools in Yatta, adding that the district is ready to provide support to schools and their faculty amid Israeli policies aiming to “Judaize the land, expand settlements, and expel Palestinians.”

Hameed also said financial support was provided to schools in the Old City of Hebron several days ago.

According to UN documentation, 1,601 Palestinian-owned structures were demolished by Israeli authorities, with more than 177 demolitions being reported in the Palestinian territory since the start of 2017.
