SALFIT (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces set up a military checkpoint on Thursday at the entrance of the village of Qarawat Bani Hassan in the northern occupied West Bank district of Salfit.
A Ma’an reporter on the scene said that Israeli forces were stopping and searching vehicles, and checking the ID cards of Palestinian passengers.
An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an they would look into reports of the closure.
Palestinian communities are routinely subjected to arbitrary road closures by Israeli military forces for purported "security reasons," an act which rights groups have denounced as amounting to collective punishment.
